We need your help!

As you may be aware, Dr Jonathan Reynolds of the University of Oxford, with colleagues at the University of Exeter and Toronto Metropolitan University, are conducting a survey of global location planning practice.

The purpose of the survey is to build on similar research undertaken ten years ago by the same academic team and we are keen to get a good response so that we can explore the ways in which location planning is evolving amongst leading retail and service firms.

Our thanks if you have already responded! The survey has previously been sent to members of the SLA however responses have been much lower than previous years.  UK business has been a leader in location planning for many years and it’s important UK practitioners share their views as part of the survey. Please can we encourage you to complete the survey, it would be very much appreciated.

The link to the survey is here and we estimate it will take around 20 minutes to complete.

Questions in the survey are divided into three sections:

  • the type and scale of location decisions that the firm undertakes
  • the availability and use of technology and geospatial data within the decision-making process; and
  • the range of location research methods that are employed within the firm

We plan to share the results of the research at an SLA event next year. We hope that it will provide a fascinating insight into sector practice and trends.

We do hope that you will feel able to participate. Do let us know if you have any questions or concerns. Jonathan can be contacted on Jonathan.Reynolds@sbs.ox.ac.uk.

Thank you
