We are planning a social event on 20th March 2025, to celebrate the anniversary of Jon’s passing.
If you don’t know who Jon Walker is, he was instrumental in setting up the SLA and we still award an annual Lifetime Achievement Award each year in his memory. To find out more visit Lifetime Achievement Award.
We tried to organise this event back in 2020 for the 10 year anniversary, but Covid hit.
We tried again in 2021 but Covid stopped that one too.
On 22nd March 2025 it will be 15 years since Jon died so we thought it would be a great excuse to get together over a beer together. Jon would have approved. So please put Thursday 20th March 2025 in your diaries.
We’ll remember Jon, whose career began studying at the University of Leeds where he graduated to become employee number 4 at Gmap, the pioneers of retail forecasting and gravity models. Jon was then Co-owner of Geobusiness Solutions with Andy and Steve and was integral to the founding of the SLA.
Please join us for a beer, glass of wine, or coffee and a good old catch up.
