It is with some sadness that we announce our chairman for over ten years, Jonathan Reynolds has decided to stand down. Jonathan has put in a lot of hard work over the years which has ensured the continued success and growth of the SLA. We would all like to thank him for his expert guidance and hope he will continue to be part of the committee and society in the coming years.
We need a new chairperson!

What is the role of the Chair of the Society for Location Analysis?
- Maintain and grow membership
- Design and agree with the Committee a programme of events for each year.
- Work with the Committee to secure speakers for events
- Host events, and convene and chair committee meetings.
- Oversee communications with membership, through the production of occasional newsletters and web posts
- Collaborate with relevant external organisations (e.g. Society for Property Research, AGI) over joint events
- Liaise with the Administrator over job advertising, event organisation, new membership applications. Oversee banking arrangements and other financial matters.
- Manage the awards and prizes offered by the SLA as and when required.
- Liaison with sponsors.
