We have big plans for the future. A brand new branch concept is currently in the live pilot stage, with plans to upgrade over 600 locations in the next decade from an investment budget in excess of £300m. Getting the long term network size, location and investment priorities of our branches right is crucial in making sure we achieve our ambitions to be the number 1 financial services provider in the UK.

Who we’re looking for:

As a minimum requirement you’ll:

  • Be a Lateral thinker who excels at developing creative ways to solve tough business problems.
  • Have excellent report and presentation writing skills and be able to provide a convincing rationale for the recommendations made.
  • Be influential and a good negotiator with analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Be an effective communicator with interpersonal and networking skills.
  • Have experience in a multi-site, multi-channel Location Planning environment with highly developed hands-on analytical experience.
  • Have a genuine passion for adding value and providing pragmatic business solutions.
  • Have an appreciation of basic finance and property issues including financial project appraisal techniques.
  • Possess highly developed PC and database skills including awareness of GIS and its applications.

What you’ll be doing

In this key role within the Location Planning team, you’ll deliver the insights that help determine our distribution strategy across the UK. You’ll analyse and interpret a wide range of market, demographic, financial, customer, competitor and performance data. More than that though, you’ll help put strategy into action.

Prioritising our investment into everything from refurbishments to new branches, resites to new distribution concepts, you’ll help co-ordinate and facilitate the input of all the departments involved and produce business cases for approval by senior management. You will build your experience to become an acknowledged expert on all aspects of location planning at Nationwide, leading to the potential for future career progression opportunities within the team.
