Location Planning Consultant, GMAP Consulting, Callcredit Information Group, Leeds.

The Team

Callcredit’s GMAP team, with headquarters in Leeds and offices in Tokyo and Shanghai, specialises in retail location analysis and planning and has a proven track record working in partnership with national and international retailers across a range of sectors and international markets.

The Role

GMAP is recruiting an experienced location planning professional to undertake a role combining retail consultancy with our clients, technical leadership and analysis for project delivery and the promotion of our location planning capabilities within the retail sector.

Key Tasks and responsibilities

  • Working on projects, applying analytical and technical skills
  • Responsibility for managing timely and accurate project delivery
  • Managing analysts within project teams plus a role in developing the capabilities of the wider team
  • Leadership in preparation of project/client reports and associated findings and recommendations
  • Client-facing role in project delivery (UK and international)
  • Supporting role in business development and promotion of our capabilities


Required knowledge and experience

  • Full understanding of location planning methodologies
  • Strong technical ability and desire to develop our capabilities further
  • Experienced user of GIS software, statistics and database (T-SQL)
  • Familiarity with geo-demographics
  • Analytical and problem solver with ability to interpret / apply / present findings
  • Structured, organised and process orientated
  • Ability to work effectively within both a team environment and independently
  • Ability to work under pressure, multi-task and manage time effectively
  • Ability to communicate with clients and understand their needs (written and oral)
  • Educated to degree level with Maths A-level or minimum GSCE A-B
